A counter motion to completely abolish the Local Property Tax was accepted at this month's meeting of Sligo County Council.
The local authority have voted to retain the Local Property Tax at 15%.
The decision was based off recommendations of the executive.
The motion was voted on by county council members, which was upheld by 10 votes for and 8 against.
