Passengers on the Sligo to Dublin rail service experienced delays to the service earlier today.
Iarnród Éireann has confirmed due to a tragic incident on the line at Enfield, services were significantly disrupted.
As a result, the 11.05 Sligo to Dublin Connolly was stopped between Mullingar and Enfield.
Emergency services attended the scene.
The line has since reopened between Enfield and Killucan and services are resuming, subject to delays.
Iarnród Éireann has apologised for the inconvenience caused.
