There are fears that some events and festivals in Co. Sligo not being allocated funding from Sligo County Council is “sending out the wrong message”.
It’s after number of event organisers in the county have been left disappointed over missing out on arts grants from the local authority.
A total of €292,000 is to be shared in the county with the bulk of the funding going to venues.
A number of local representatives expressed concern that the way in which the money was distributed may act as a deterrent to those interested in organising events going forward.
It has been acknowledged at today's sitting of Sligo County Council that a review should take place with a view towards making changes for next year.
