Sligo Fire Service has the fastest response time in the country.
According to a national report for 2017, the average time it took the service to get fire brigades to fires was 4.26 minutes.
It's mobilisation time for non-fire incidents was 4.10 minutes, 13 seconds quicker than 2016, and also the fastest in the country.
Today, Sligo county councillors at their last meeting before the election, paid tribute to the those in the fire service.
