Sligo County Council had the lowest council house vacancy rate in the country as of October last year.
A report by the Sunday Independent found the rate was less than 1% with Leitrim also being among the lowest nationally with a rate under 2%.
There were a total of 171 vacant council houses across Sligo, Leitrim and Donegal out of a total 8,181.
There were 19 vacant in Sligo, 16 in leitrim and 136 in Donegal.

While the number is high in Donegal, this is out of a total 4,978 owned properties in the county.
