Sligo University Hospital is actively seeking funding approval for two posts to enhance diabetes services on the campus.
The hospital says that two Advanced Nurse Practitioners are needed - one for the adult and one for the for the ongoing development of the Paediatric pump service, both for type 1 diabetes.

The issue was raised at the latest sitting of the Regional Health Forum West by Sligo Fianna Fail Cllr Donal Gilroy.
Cllr Gilroy says the approval would lead to big improvements to the service locally:
