Sligo IFA chairperson says Food Visions plan must be backed by money

The chairperson of the Sligo branch of the Irish Farmers Associations says the government's 'Food Visions 2030' plan needs to have substance.

Kathleen Henry says while the idea is welcome, it must be backed by actual investment from the government.

The plan is to create a roadmap for the agri-food sector to increase exports from €14bn to €21bn by 2030 to further enhance Ireland’s position as a global leader in safe, sustainable agri-food exports.

Speaking to OceanFM News, Kathleen Henry says unless there is proper funding, the scheme will 'fall flat on it's face.'
