The weather warnings for Sligo, Leitrim and Donegal are to be upgraded to an Orange alert tonight.
Sligo and Leitrim will be under the warning from 8pm Tuesday until 8am Wednesday morning while a separate Orange alert for Donegal begins at 2am Wednesday morning until 2pm that afternoon.
However, the country remains under a Yellow warning until 6pm.
Met Eireann are predicting wind speeds of up to 80km/hr with severe or damaging gusts of up to 130 km/h, with localised stronger winds likely.

The forecaster say coastal flooding and power outages are likely.
