The Government have been called on to step in and reduce the costs of premiums when it comes to insuring a business.
The calls have been made by Sligo/Leitrim Fianna Fail TD Eamon Scanlon.
Deputy Scanlon raised the matter in the Dail this week week after a business had contacted him in relation to rising insurance costs.
The business in question which employs 106 people had it's insurance costs increase by €30,000 in the space of just one year.
Deputy Scanlan claims people are at their wits end and if businesses continue like this, they will have to close.
