A Sligo-Leitrim TD believes the retention of the 9 per cent VAT rate is vital for the hospitality sector due to spiralling energy costs.
Independent TD Marian Harkin is calling on the government not to undermine the tourism sector.

The 9 per cent VAT rate was introduced in response to the challenges posed by Covid-19 and will end from March 1st next year.
Deputy Harkin says it's important for the sector to be supported as costs continue to rise:
