Sligo people 'driven' away from public transport - Harkin

A Sligo Leitrim TD says people in the North West are being 'driven' away from public transport.

Further questions are being asked of Bus Eireann after a number of services in Sligo were cancelled yet again.

Local routes affected yesterday included Sligo to Ballina, Rosses Point to Knappagh Road, Cartron to High St and Strandhill to Rosses Point.

It resulted in a significant amount of people left stranded in the affected areas.

Independent TD Marian Harkin has described an ongoing recruitment campaign by Bus Eireann as too little too late:
