Sligo premises closes after evidence of rodent infestation found

Sligo premises closes after evidence of rodent infestation found

A Sligo restaurant was ordered to close by the Food Safety Authority after evidence of rodent infestation was found throughout the premises.

 

Baker Boys restaurant/café located at Finisklin was ordered closed from November 28th to December 4th.

The closure order required all of the premises be closed.

 

The Food Safety Authority of Ireland (FSAI) reported that there was evidence of a rodent infestation in the premises and that adequate procedures were not in place to control pests.

The following were observed as evidence during an inspection:

 

Rodent droppings were present throughout the premises. Rodent droppings were noted near open foods, around food contact materials and in areas where food was prepared and served.

 

There were gaps evident in the premises enabling pests access to the cavity walls and attic space. There was a gap at the base of the delivery door.
