A Sligo premises is among those that were given closure orders in January by the Food Safety Authority of Ireland.
The Turk Grill, located on Grattan Street in Sligo was closed under the FSAI Act, 1998.
Among the discrepancies found at the premises included operational practices that could result in a serious risk of food poisoning while neither of the two food handlers on site had received training in food hygiene commensurate with their work activity.
There was a total of 11 enforcement orders were served on food businesses during the month of January for breaches of food safety legislation.
The FSAI stated that “food businesses have a fundamental legal responsibility to ensure the food they produce is safe to eat. “
