The two competitors who died after a crash during the Sligo Stages rally have been named as Daire Maguire from County Fermanagh and Gene McDonald from County Cavan.
It’s understood both were experienced competitors with over 15 and 20 years of rallying accumulated over the years.

The men who were participating in the event were killed instantly when their rally car hit a wall at Carrowcushcly in Ballymote at around 3pm yesterday.
Post-mortems on the bodies of the men will take place today at Sligo University Hospital.

Gardai are asking that footage of the collision is not shared across social media or messaging apps.
