Sligo restauranteur warns of impact of increase in hospitality costs

A Sligo restauranteur and former president of the Restaurants Association of Ireland is warning that one in five restaurants could close if the government increases the hospitality.

Anthony Gray has called for a clear distinction to be made between hotels and the tourism and hospitality sectors.

He says hotels through price gouging has provoked the government into increasing the VAT rate for the sector which the Restaurants Association of Ireland claims will add further to the cost of living.
