The first incident took place on Friday when a surfer in Strandhill got caught in a rip current. The surfer was able to paddle ashore themselves, and the lifeboat crew were stood down once it was established the Surfer’s safety was no longer in danger.

On Saturday, a concerned member of the public reported a person paddling on a board who they deemed to be in difficulty on the channel off Coney Island.

Once again the Lifeboat, was launched and the volunteer crew spoke to the person who was able to paddle safety back to shore at the Yacht Club.
