Sligo Rovers have appointed Jamie Murphy as the club's new Football and Social Responsibility (FSR) Officer.
The new role at the club will be full-time, and Rovers say the appointment reinforces the club's commitment and focus on the local community.
Murphy has been involved with the Manorhamilton Rangers soccer club in north Leitrim - and was head coach of the club's senior women's team in the inaugural season of the Sligo Bay Lobster Women's Amateur League.
Murphy has been a community activist for many years - and has worked as a mental health worker with the Sligo Traveller Support Group.
He previously stood in the 2021 local elections as an independent.
