Commuters on the Sligo to Dublin train yesterday experienced long delays after the services through Longford was disrupted when a vehicle hit a railway bridge on the N63 close to Longford Town.
The 13:05hrs Sligo to Dublin Connolly was delayed by 20 minutes while the lorry which collided with the bridge was removed, and the bridge inspected for any subsequent damage.

The 13:00hrs Dublin Connolly to Sligo service was also delayed as a result of the incident.
