Both Sligo and Letterkenny University Hospitals are both among the most overcrowded hospitals in the country.
According to the latest trolley watch figures from the INMO, there are 40 people awaiting admission in Sligo University Hospital today, and a further 38 in Letterkenny.
Those numbers mean Sligo and Letterkenny are third and fourth busiest hospitals in Ireland today.
The North West's facilities are only behind University Hospital Galway and University Hospital Limerick, where there are 67 and 78 people waiting for a bed today.
Nationwide, today's figures stand at 465.
