A Sligo/Leitrim TD says thousands of young farmers will be bankrupt by 2020.
The comments come from Fianna Fail TD, Eamon Scanlon speaking the Dail yesterday.
in 2015, The Young Farmer Scheme was allocatted €25m, in 2016 there was no funds allocatted while for this year only €5m is allocated.
Deputy Scanlon says that he knows of farmers who signed up for the scheme with the expectation that funding would continue and now finds themselves in serious financial trouble.

Speaking in the Dail yesterday, Deputy Scanlon says that if funding is available elsewhere, that it should be made available for the Young Farmers Scheme.
