Emergency crews at Sligo County Council are gearing up for the incoming severe weather conditions.
Roads across the county’s network will be gritted/salted as appropriate and in accordance with the winter maintenance plan.
The weather conditions, together with the road surface temperature are set to be monitored closely by Sligo County Council today and in the days ahead.
Following these assessments, treatment measures which are appropriate to the conditions will be carried out on the roads.
The Council says that priority will be given to the national routes, and regional roads as per the winter maintenance plan.
The outdoor crews in each of the Municipal Districts are prepared to deal with issues at a local level.
Concluding, Management at Sligo County Council say that an appropriate response will be implemented to deal with local roads and issues that affect the safe and effective operation of the road network.
