Six people have lost their lives on roads in County Sligo since January of last year.
Four lost their lives in 2023 while a further two people were killed in the County since January of this year.
Data released by An Garda Siochana also shows that there were ten serious collisions in 2023 in Sligo and three serious collisions so far this year in the County.
At latest sitting of the Sligo Joint Policing Committee, Chief Superintendent Aidan Glackan acknowledged that speed is a major issue in the North West with a lot of motorists regularly breaking the speed limits the region.
