Gardai are warning motorists that they will be out in force across the North West this morning as Slow Down Day officially got underway at 7am.
The nationwide 24hr initiative in partnership with Road Safety Authority Ireland is aimed at promoting safer driving behaviour.

The operation will centre on high visibility speed enforcement activity across the road network.
