Call for slow zone to be established in Ballyshannon

A south Donegal councillor says the establishment of a 'Slow Zone' in Ballyshannon would tie in with the Green Schools Programme in the town.

Fine Gael Councillor Barry Sweeny is calling for the implementation of a 'Slow Zone' in The Rock area.

He says it would create a safer, happier and healthier place for all road users and would be in line with the Green Schools Programme

Cllr Sweeny added that it would complement the safe crossing point between GAA pitches, school, creche, church and nursing home in what is a very busy area of Ballyshannon.
