Snow on the way across North West amid extended weather alert

A level Yellow Snow and Ice warning will be in place from 5pm today, along with a weather advisory alert running into next week for the North West region.

For 24 hours until 5pm tomorrow Sunday, there is expected falls of sleet and snow with heavy snowfall, which may result in hazardous travelling conditions.

While Sunday night and much of the coming week will be very cold. Severe frost and icy patches in many areas. Lying snow in some areas will be slow to clear. Wintry showers at times. With conditions expected to persist until Thursday night.
