The term 'soft independents' has caused some controversy yet again at the latest sitting of Sligo County Council.
Councillor Gibbons included the phrase when calling for the introduction of mortgage interest relief to supporting struggling borrowers.
However, a number of other local representatives took umbrage with the wording once more.
It resulted in Cllr Gibbons having to reword his motion but he stands by his wording:
