A Leitrim Councillor says hospital waiting lists across the region, especially for children, need to be addressed as a matter of urgency.
Latest figures from the national Treatment Purchase Fund show 35,769 outpatients appoints in total waiting to go ahead in Sligo and Letterkenny University Hospitals.
9,482 of these, across both hospitals, are waiting 18 months or more.
