The Special Olympics Polar Plunge 2017 takes place in the Northwest this morning.
It's taking place in Rosses Point in Sligo at 11am and Rathmullan in Donegal at 11:30am today.
The event is a vital fundraiser for people with intellectual disabilities in the region
And Sligo’s World Champion swimmer and ambassador for the event Mona McSharry says she'll use the polar plunge as a unique way of preparing for this year’s European Short Course Championships:
