Speculation that new Achonry bishop may be announced this Sunday

Speculation is growing that a new bishop for the catholic Diocese of Achonry might be announced this Sunday.

It's as the papal nuncio, Archbishop Jude Thaddeus Okolo, is due to visit St Nathy's Cathedral in Ballaghaderreen for the launch of Catholic schools week.

There has been no bishop in Achonry, which covers part of County Sligo, since February 2018, when Bishop Brendan Kelly was installed as Bishop of Galway.
