St Patrick's Day travel plans for local representatives revealed

Details of where local representatives will travel to for St Patrick's Day have been revealed.

It's customary for delegations locally, as well as Government Ministers and TDs, to travel to different places around the world to mark St Patrick's Day.

It's destination USA for local representatives across Sligo, Leitrim and Donegal next week.

To Sligo County Council first, where a delegation comprising of Cathaoirleach Cllr Declan Bree, Leas-Cathaoirleach Edel McSharry, Chief Executive of Sligo County Council Martin Lydon along with the Director of Services Jim Molloy has been proposed to attend St. Patrick Day engagements in New York.

There are two representatives from Leitrim County Council also travelling to New York for the celebrations - they are Leas Cathaoirleach Cllr Sean McGowan and the Chief Executive Joseph Gilooly

While the delegation from Donegal County Council set to travel to the USA include Cathaoirleach Cllr Niamh Kennedy, Leas - Cathaoirleach Cllr Jimmy Kavanagh, Chief Executive John McLoughlin and Director of Water and Environment Michael McGarvey.

It's anticipated that the trips will be used to emphasise that the North West is an attractive place to do businesses while also strengthening overseas links with the diaspora.
