Status orange snow warning for the north west

A 12-hour snow warning has been issued for the counties of Sligo, Leitrim and Donegal

Met Eireann is warning the North Wes to expect "blizzard-like conditions".

A Status Orange snow warning has been issued for Donegal, Leitrim, Sligo, Mayo and Roscommon.

Met Eireann is warning of "heavy sleet and snow leading to blizzard-like conditions in parts with treacherous driving conditions".

The warning is in place from 3am until 3pm on Friday.
