UPDATE, 8am:
The Status Orange weather warning for Donegal has been downgraded to a Yellow Warning from 8 clock this morning.
However, there may still be gusts of up to 110km/h. until about midday, particularly near coastal areas.
The warning continues to apply to Mayo and Galway.
6:30am:
Motorists in Donegal are being urged to slow down this morning where a Status Orange weather warning is in place , with gusts of up to 130km/h expected.
Meanwhile, a Status Yellow warning is in place for Connacht counties as well as Cavan, where there may be gusts of up to 110km/h.
This warning is in place until 12 noon.
