A status yellow fog alert has been issued for counties Sligo, Leitrim and Donegal for this evening and overnight.
Commencing from 4pm on Wednesday afternoon, patches of fog and freezing fog will be present in the region and will thicken tonight.

The weather warning issued by Met Éireann concludes at 6am on Thursday.
Motorists and pedestrians are encouraged to show increased caution during this period as visibility is expected to be severely reduced.
