A Sligo councillor says there is no timeframe for the provision of a new Garda station in Sligo.
That's despite a government promise that a new station will be built.
A site has already been earmarked for the proposed new station.
At yesterday's meeting of Sligo County Council, Independent Alliance Councillor Marie Casserly called for a progress report from the Office of Public Works and the Department of Justice.

But Fianna Fail Councillor Tom MacSharry proposed that the council write to the Justice Minister expressing their disappointment over, what he described as 'the delay' in providing the new Garda station.
