Funding has been approved for a Community Park in West Sligo.
It will be located in Castleconnor, at Stokane Co. Sligo
Minister for Rural and Community Development, Michael Ring, announced the €200,000 LEADER funding while two weeks ago, the group received €50,000 Clár funding.
It’ll consist of a walking/running track, picnic & seating areas, astro turf with floodlighting and a grass pitch, also sensory wall panels and outdoor exercise stations.
Phase 1 which is the multi use games area is due to begin within two week with an estimated completion time before Christmas, with Phase 2 beginning early 2020.

Speaking to OceanFM, Chairperson of the Stockane Community Park, Richard McLoughlin, says the aim of the project is inclusion, health & well being and reducing rural isolation.
