A recent study has shown that a large number of new companies are starting up across the North West.
The data has been compiled by CRIFVision Net.
Across the region, there were year-on-year increases on new companies starting up in Donegal and Sligo.
Sligo had one of the highest rates in the country, with 34% of companies starting up in the last year.
Donegal was also on the rise, with 16% more startups over the last 12 months.
Other counties to see positive growth include Longford (79%), Wexford (68%), Roscommon (34%), Westmeath (25%), Wicklow (22%), which all saw a strong increase in start-ups.
However, there were counties that saw a decrease in companies starting up. Leitrim was among them, down 16%. Other counties that fell were Cork, down by 8%, and Limerick, down by 4%.
Sectors that benefitted from new companies starting up included motor (48%), real estate (28%), manufacturing (15%), and IT (11%).
Only two sectors saw a quarter-on-quarter decrease in new startups; agriculture, hunting and forestry was down 10% and leasing decreased by 24%.
