Suckler farmers urged to apply for funding under new beef scheme

Suckler farmers in the north west are being encouraged to apply for the new €40 per cow Beef Environmental and Efficiency Pilot Scheme.

The application period for this new scheme will run from February 4th to February 22nd.

In total, €20m for sucklers was secured in the last budget and although the IFA says the 40 Euro per cow falls well below the required amount, IFA National Livestock Chairman Angus Woods is encouraging all farmers to apply for the funding.
