A multi-agency operation was launched yesterday to a swimmer in difficulty near Bundoran Pier.
The alarm was raised after the swimmer was reported to have gotten caught in a rip current.
Despite extremely challenging conditions, Bundoran RNLI were on scene in minutes, assessing the situation and working quickly to bring the swimmer onboard to ensure their safety.
The casualty was then returned to shore and passed into the care of the National Ambulance Service for further medical treatment.
