Tánaiste hopes Mica Redress Scheme will be underway in the New Year

The Tánaiste says he would be disappointed if the new Mica Redress Scheme wasn't up and running in the New Year.

Affected homeowners are said to be anxious over facing into another winter without their homes fixed.

Leo Varadkar was responding to question in the Dáil on the issue from Donegal TD Pearse Doherty.

Deputy Doherty asked if the scheme would be open in January and will there be sufficient funding in place while responding, the Tánaiste says Housing Minister Darragh O'Brien is finalising proposals:
