Tanaiste says Sligo on its way to 'fulfilling' its own potential

The Tanaiste says the commitment to invest in infrastructure in the North West means Sligo is on its way to 'fulfilling' its economic potential.

Earlier this week, there was a huge boost for the town and region when Abbvie a medtech company in Sligo announced it's to create 100 new jobs at its plant in Ballytivnan.

While an allocation of €11m was announced for the development of the Western Distributor Road in Sligo.

Speaking in the Dail yesterday, Simon Coveney said this week's announcements are only the beginning of a positive phase of development for the region:
