Sinn Fein Cllr Brendan Barry is calling on the Minister for Agriculture to take a more proactive approach to eradicating TB in Ireland.
The Leitrim Councillor is asked him to look at the New Zealand model where they have taken a radical approach.
In New Zealand with a cattle herd of almost 10 million in 2016 there were only 43 infected herds compared to 3682 restricted herds here in a 6.5 million Irish cattle herd.
46 of those restricted herds were in Leitrim with less than 70,000 cattle.

Speaking at the Council meeting this week, Cllr Barry said that the current eradication project is costing a lot but it's not working:
