The future of the Money Advice and Budgeting Service is now also under threat.
The issue was raised in the Dail last night where Fianna Fail Deputy Willie O'Dea moved a motion against the regionalisation of the service.
There are plans to abolish the local services and making regional centres.
Sligo Leitrim Fianna Fail TD Marc MacSharry said this is again a 'recentralisation' of services away from rural areas.
