Text Alert Meetings to take place in Collooney and Ballinacarrow

Residents in the areas of Collooney and Ballinacarrow in County Sligo are encouraged to attend the inaugural meetings of new text alert schemes this week.

The first meeting is being held tonight Tuesday in Ballinacarrow Community Centre at 8pm, with the next meeting on Friday in the Teeling Centre in Collooney.

Representative from Muintir na Tire, Vanessa Clarke, has established numerous text alert schemes and will be in attendance along with a local community Garda.

Sinn Fein Councillor Thomas Healy says text alerts help keep communities safe and contribute to community policing.
