Third count begins in Sligo-Strandhill

The third count of the Sligo-Strandhill electoral area has begun at The Sligo Park Hotel.

Following his election earlier this morning, Fianna Fáil's Tom MacSharry votes will now be distributed.

His 1,347 votes at the first count meant he exceeded the quota of 1,188.

The adjudicating of the spoilt votes in Ballymote-Tubbercurry is also taking place.

All in all, this means that we will definitely see the third count in Sligo-Strandhill which will be followed by either the fourth count in that municipal district or the first count in Ballymote-Tubbercurry.
