Thousands without power across the north west

A number of homes and businesses across the north west are currently without power as Storm Kathleen continues to wreak havoc.

The ESB Power check map indicates that the worst affected areas are Aghagad, Ballymote and Glencolmcille areas.

These regions also cover a number of other local communities close by.

It’s reported that 1,890 premises are without power in Ballymote, with the ESB carrying out emergency repair works.

In Aghagad in north Sligo, almost 900 have lost power with an estimated return time unknown.

There is no electricity in 595 premises in the Glencolmbcille area and 554 in Killybegs respectively.

Elsewhere, there are repair crews are currently operating on smaller outages in Enniscrone and Ballyshannon.
