Three care centres for people with disabilities have been included in the latest inspection reports from HIQA.
The health watchdog has published 50 reports examining regulations in centres around the country today.
Of the three care centres inspected, Sonas Nursing Home Ard na Greine in Sligo, and Donegal's St Eunan's Nursing Home and Killybegs Community Hospital, only two non-compliances were found.
St Eunan's Nursing Home in Letterkenny was the only one of the three to be compliant in all regulations examined. The inspector's report found that both residents and visitors to the centre were complimentary in their feedback and expressed satisfaction about the standard of care provided. Residents stated that they were well looked after and that the staff were always available to assist with their personal care.
Elsewhere in Donegal, the Killybegs Community Hospital was found to be compliant in all but one of the regulations. The breach came in Resident's Rights, after the inspector noted that hand-wash basins were located inside the bed space of residents in four four-bedded rooms.
As a result, the residents accommodated in that bed space could not maintain their privacy when other residents or staff were using the hand-wash facility. This was a repeated breach from previous inspections.
And in Sligo, the only non-compliance found in Sonas Nursing Home Ard na Greine was in Governance and Management. It was found that the registered provider was not running the designated centre in accordance with the conditions of registration.
Centres found in breach of regulations are required to submit compliance plans to demonstrate how they will make improvements and come into compliance with the regulations.
