The funeral of the late Tommie Gorman is getting underway in Sligo later today.
The former RTE broadcaster died on Tuesday at the age of 68.
The late Tommie Gorman worked for RTÉ for more than 40 years.
He was the station's northern editor at the time of his retirement in 2021.
He was made northern editor in 2001, a position he held for 20 years.
Tributes have been pouring in for Tommie Gorman since the shock announcement of his death on Tuesday.
President Michael D. Higgins described him as one of the outstanding public service broadcasters of his generation.
While Sligo Rovers Chairman Tommy Higgins said earlier this week that he was one of the club's greatest champions.
The late Mr. Gorman will be making his final visit to the Showgrounds at 1.15pm today, an opportunity for supporters to pay their respects.
Sligo Rovers officials and players will then form a guard of honour on the approach to Our Lady Star of the Sea Church Ransboro.
His funeral Mass will be celebrated at 2pm this afternoon and he will be laid to rest in Kilmacowen Cemetery.
His family have requested that donations in lieu of flowers be made to the Sligo Rovers Development Fund.
