Tractors to converge on Manorhamilton for New Year's Day charity event

Tens of tractors will converge on the North Leitrim town of Manorhamilton on New Year's Day for the annual IFA tractorcade.

Starting from the mart at 2pm, it will raise funds for Our Lady's Day Hospital.

It's hoped the event will raise enough money to buy two pressure-relieving chairs for the hospital.

Last year, more than 60 tractors showed up.

But as Pat Gilhooley of Leitrim IFA tells Ocean FM News, it's an occasion when town and country come together for a good cause.

And he says one does not have to have a tractor to come out and support the event.
