Tributes to well known Former Fine Gael Councillor

Tributes are being paid today to the former Fine Gael Councillor and community activist Charlie Hopkins.

Mr Hopkins was a former Roscommon Councillor who had many connections through family and politics with several parts of the North West.

A former coal miner by profession Charlie Hopkins was an advocate for miner’s rights over the years and was hugely respected union representative for miners.
