The numbers on trolleys in the north west have fallen significantly today.
There are 13 people waiting for a bed in Letterkenny University Hospital with nobody waiting in Sligo.
This is down from a high of almost 60 people waiting in north west hospitals on a single day last week.
Overcrowding remains a problem nationwide according to the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation as their latest trolley watch report shows there are 421 people waiting for a bed.
Cork University Hospital is the worse affected today with 41 people in the emergency department and overflow areas of wards.
